A lovely ashtray designed by John Clappison for Hornsea Potteries between 1956 and 1962. Model no 235 (as imprinted on the base).
It has a sky blue interior with black and white outer shell (I can't find any others with the blue inner).
Printed on back with an old Hornsea Pottery logo, and 'Made in England'.

It has a hairline crack - please see photos - it looks like a repaired chip but I think it's a more of a line. It's more inside than out.
Plus one other teeny imperfection that I can't tell if it's from manufacture or a 'fleebite' dot.
No crazing in the glaze like some.
I'm being picky, but it is a lovely example if you are missing this from your collection!

13cm round x 4.5cm high apx.
